My Ph.D. (University of California, Berkeley) is in Comparative Literature. I have also studied at the University of Barcelona (Spain), the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil) and the University of São Paulo (Brazil).
I have conducted archival research in Peru, and traveled widely in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. Earlier in life I lived, worked and studied in France and Denmark.
